Inspired by fellow blogger Sally Neill
I have just hot footed it here from Sally’s Neills blog. What an inspiration for moving this business forward. I have been stuck in a rut for a couple of weeks now, as I mentioned in my last post. It is really frustrating moving at such a slow speed, but the fault is my own. The best way to describe it is this business is like driving a car. Press the accelerator and whoosh off you go, breaking the sound barrier.
Take your foot off said accelerator and you start to coast and eventually come to a halt. And this is what has happened to me these past weeks. I have taken my foot of the accelerator. I have stopped visiting blogs, stopped posting in forums not written any articles. I have come to a complete and grinding halt, caught up in my own fear.
My fear is that I do not know enough about internet marketing to be able to produce a product of my own. I lost sight of the bigger picture, I have been focusing on making a product rather than on providing content which people can make use of. I have been guilty of chasing the money again. So I need to get back out there and really find out what people are looking for. I need to go out and help people, instead of waiting for people to come to me.
Why or how will they come to me? They don’t know me! So I need to make a name for myself, which is exactly what my mentor Alex Jeffreys has told me to do. So it’s back to basics, or rather “Forward to Basics” which is the title of Alex’s first coaching module.
I have spent today going over tutorial videos from Alex. It is so easy to forget what has been covered. I need to put together a daily “revision plan” to keep fresh in my mind all the material that Alex has covered.
But my motivation this evening has come from Sally’s blog, Sally Neill 2010. I have drawn up a daily plan, but I have not been executing it, and I have been expecting the results to continue, how daft is that?
I posted my article yesterday and expected some comments today, but guess what, nothing, nada, zilch, zero. Well if I am not out there promoting myself who will visit my blog? No one
So it’s back to the plan, following the plan produces measurable results. And it’s back to visiting blogs and forums and posting valued comments.
And as I said to Sally I really need to find my direction. I have all the tools I need to succeed; Alex has done a great job on that end of things. So as usual the rest is up to me.
So this is me building my business, warts and all. As Alex Jeffreys says “Internet marketing is simple, but not easy”, and I have certainly learnt that these past weeks, but as I have said before , there is a living to be had in this business, I just have to persevere and not give up, and this blog will remain a testimony to my struggles and eventual triumph.

Hey Hiro,
I am so happy that my post helped you get back on track.
Pushing down the accelerator and breaking the sound barrier is a great way to describe progressing a business online.
It’s hard going at such a fast pace, I sometimes feel like I run out of gas or petrol, but you just have to keep pushing forward.
Stick to your plans, stay focused and keep taking action.
Speak soon, Sally
Hi Sally,
Hey what a great class we had last night! And as we listeners of Capital Radio here in sunny London often hear Johnny Vaughan say, “You in da show”.
Brilliant piece and expose by Alex on your interview with David Walker. I knew it was the right thing to keep an eye on you when I started blogging a month back. Your dedication is an inspiration.
Keep at it gal.
Hiro
Hey Hiro,
Yes it was fun to see my blog on the call.
Is it a month we have been blogging already?
My god how time flies, it’s been fun though, met lots of lovely people, including yourself,
Sally
Hi Hiro,
Good posts. I really like the honesty in your blog. The truth is that we all get scared – and we all fall of the tracks every now and again. Sometimes we pick ourselves up…and sometimes other people help us.
Either way, keep up the great work…and keep following the plan. Alex J knows his stuff and soon you will too.
Jonathan
Hi Jonathan,
I appreciate your comment, that’s what’s great about this community, people are there to lend you a helping hand. You are definitely not alone on Alex’s course. Someone is always there to help and encourage you, just as you have juust done for me.
Thanks Bro.
Peace
Hiro
Hi Hiro,
It’s been awhile since I visited you as I’m just getting to add all these blogs to my Google Reader so don’t worry I will definitely visit you more often.
Sally is a great inspiration to us all, she is awesome! Just know that in order for this to work for you, you must not get distracted and move at your own pace. All of us experience being in a rut once in awhile but as soon as we can get back on track and take action than that is all that matters.
Also, don’t let your memories (fears and what’s holding you back) keep you from your dreams. You can’t change the past and what has happened but you can embrace the present and look forward to the future so keep your head up and keep pushing forward. You will triumph!
Anna
Thanks for the encouragement Anna,
It’s amazing how this business model of Alex’s works. I have not checked in for a few days now, being in somewhat of a rut and other commitments, but lo and behold not only do I get a fantastic motivational comment from you, but my subscriber list has increased as well!
As you say, must not get distracted. Have to keep my eye on the dreams.
Hiro
Hi Hiro
Just read all your blog articles today. I am impressed. I felt like you did, completely overwhelmed, but reading your blog and seeing all the support you got from fellow bloggers made me jumpstart my planning and actually do the commitment of 3hrs/day in IM.
keep up the good work.
